Mid-December 2013 Journey to Beijing
Upon arrival of my hostel I was actually worried that something bad was going to happen because of the way it looked, dark, gloomy and run-downed...
...but I decided to over look this and carried on with my journey in Beijing.
I took a tour to visit the Great Wall of China
at Mu Tian Yu.
For the tour, I was told to wake up really early in the morning, half asleep I made my way down stairs where they provided breakfast, not the best food I've had on my journey so far, but I was too tired and hungry to care.
It was a long bus ride but a pleasant one...
ended up taking a few shots before falling asleep
~(-.-)zzZ..
Before I knew it, the bus was in a rural area...
So peaceful...
We were getting closer to the Great Wall...
I could see the wall, far out into the distance...
When we had arrived, taking the lift up was breath taking, already you could see the beautiful view...
It was incredibly freezing, but i had a great time there.
The view was absolutely incredible, I wanted to stay to watch the sun set.
But because it was a tour, we were on a time limit.
Here are a few panorama shots...
Inside of the Great Wall towers...
One day...I will wall to the very end...one day...
Nothing but clear skies...
This is my favourite panorama shot...
Bored of mountains yet?
Here's a #selfie lol
It was time to leave...
As we made our way down, I still could not believe I was there, it felt so surreal...
As we reached the bottom, I was approached by two chinese men dressed in historic costumes...but,
O M G
I paid 68 dollars for this photo, they called me and I thought it was a free, touristy thing to do, this one photo was a TRICK, they only wanted money...
(-.-")
Besides this, I had a really enjoyable time, especially with the day being so clear and beautiful...
I got onto the bus and we made our way home to our hostels...
Last snap before I dozed off...

Within an instance I woke to Beijing's busy city life...
...and was lucky enough to capture this...
...the setting of the sun to the horizon...
The following morning I had to leave for my flight back to Hong Kong and get ready for Australia, oh home sweet home.
Experiencing Beijing for a day was an eye-opener, it allowed me to see things I wouldn't on a personal level
...literally...
for instance; how to take care of your chickens in a car 101
1. put your chickens in a cage,
2. leave your boot car open.
I plan to make future trips to China again...but next time with some more knowledge of Mandarin.
(p.s: unless disclaimed, all pictures were taken by me on iphone 4s, apologies for any blurriness)
