So much Seoul: Changdeokgung & HO Chicken

6th December 2013

"Changdeokgung Palace" was the second royal villa built following the construction of Gyeongbukgung Palace in 1405.

Directions:
Anguk Station (Subway Line 3), Exit 3.
Go straight for about 5min.

Admission Fees
Regular Tour (Changdeokgung Palace)
Adults: 3,000Won
Children: 1,500Won
It's a tad cheaper if you go in a group of more than 10.

Changdeokgung palace was the main for many of the Joseon kings.

Here are a few snaps around the palace...

Unfortunately, the palace was burned down by angry citizens in 1592 when the royal family fled their abode during the Japanese Invasion of Korea.

Thanks to Gwanghaegun, the palace was restored in 1611.

The palace grounds are comprised of a public palace area, a royal family residence building, and the rear garden. Known as a place of rest for the kings, the rear garden boasts a gigantic tree that is over 300 years old, a small pond, and a pavilion.

It was slowly getting dark, my friend and I decided to head back to Sinchon to have dinner.
There's a place nearby called "HO CHICKEN"
They serve a variety of crispy fried chicken,
...and its soooo gooood :P
